What to expect
We firstly take a thorough history of not only your current condition but all the factors that have contributed to where you are today including:
- Work and lifestyle factors
- Diet and exercise
- Injury and accidents
- Emotional and physical stress
- Family history
We then perform a thorough examination to help us fully understand your condition and if clinically indicated we may refer for diagnostic imaging to assist us in a diagnosis.
Spinal manipulation
Spinal manipulation is the cornerstone of our profession and here at the Watsonia Chiropractic Centre we perform traditional manual manipulation along with low force instrument assisted adjustments, mobilisation and drop piece adjustments.
Soft tissue therapy
We apply several different methods to treat the muscles and associated soft tissues which include:
- Massage and myofascial release
- Trigger point therapy
- Static and resisted stretching
- Dry needling
What is dry needling?
Dry needling is a form of therapy that uses a fine filament needle that is inserted into the tight bands and trigger points of the affected muscle in order to reduce the tension, pain and dysfunction. Dry needling is fast and effective treatment for both acute and chronic muscle pain.
Ultrasound therapy
Ultrasound therapy is a non-invasive treatment commonly used on both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions including sprains, strains, tendonitis and bursitis.
